Our 1st Cook and Talk: A Success!

Our first Cook & Talk was a huge success! The event was held at Sønderlandskolen last February 22 from 5:30 pm until late. Over 30 attendees, kids and adults alike, came to cook and sample exciting cuisines from the evening's featured countries: Denmark, Philippines and Brazil.

The Danish team headed by Hans, prepared a delicious array of traditional Danish meatloaves served with hasselback potatoes and broiled veggies while Team Brazil led by Cristiane, made Moqecua de Peixe, a delicious fish stew made of coconut, lime  and paired with plain rice. Sheryl led the Philippine crew in cooking savory and crispy Lumpiang Shanghai or Filipino spring rolls served with Asian salad and plain rice as sides. Following the hearty dinner, everyone was treated to a dessert buffet of yummy pancakes, ice cream, fruit salad and chocolate truffles. The mix of good food and great conversations with old and new friends ultimately made for a wonderful and unforgettable evening. :-)

We would like to thank everyone who supported and participated in our first Cook and Talk. Due to the great success and excellent feedback, we are already planning on holding our second one this coming May. We look forward to seeing you on our next Cook and Talk and keep posted for updates and other upcoming events.
